Peggy Gonzales - General Manager

I was a single mother when I started working at Maria's. I had lived paycheck to paycheck for most of my adult life. After I had been working for Maria's for a couple of years I received a bonus check that I was able to put down on a condo. After I was in the condo about five years it doubled in value. I sold it and bought a house, Now I live in a home right down the street from Maria's!

Jose De Lara - Server

I started working for Maria's Italian Kitchen in 1985 as a busboy in the Sherman Oaks location. I worked directly with Madelyn, the owner, and watched her business grow. When the earthquake happened in 1994 I lost my apartment, and Madelyn personally helped me get a place to live. What a boss!

Over the years I have worked as a busboy and now server at the Woodland Hills location. This job has helped me save to buy my house in Lancaster and support my family. I have been here so long and have gotten to know so many great customers. I have seen kids grow up before my eyes!

Gigi Gizzella - Server

I have been working at Maria's since 2000. I have met some wonderful people both staff and customers who inspired me to be a better person. Maria's was truly like family. I will always remember the good fun times and cherish them till the end of the day.

Maria's is not just a place for employment I feel like we are family. For over 20 years I have called Maria's Home. It has been a great challenge and a joy to be a part of this company and watch us continue to grow.

I have been working for Maria's since 1989. Throughout these years I've been very happy the way Maria's has treated me. When I need help, Madelyn is always there for me. She helped me buy a house. I now have two houses because of her. From everyone I met and worked with, I have learned a lot and have made me a better person. At Maria's we work as a team and I am very happy to be a part of this winning team.
